Ignition Timing Corrections
Ignition Timing Corrections
Anyone else having this worry on ignition timing correction cutting power during Autocross runs or have advice?
I’m getting a lot of ignition timing correction during autocross runs. Most of the correction is for cylinders 2 and 6 shown in the image. I am worried this is cutting power.
The log is from one of my autocross course runs. All six course run logs are similar-
Run Video for reference:
I’m running the Cobb 93 Octane tune and did consult a pro-tuner on this. No one a real super expert on my 991.1 model with the 3.4 liter N/A engine.
I only have 25000 miles on the engine. The engine is modified with the IPD plenum and Fabspeed freeflow glasspack side silencers and deleted center muffler cross pipe.
I will check the spark plugs for color, run some fuel injection cleaner first. Other trouble shooting action are run the 91 Octane fuel tune and next try some Torco Octane booster with the 93 Octane tune.
Thanks!

I got a report from the Porsche calibrators that the logs look fine. It is not uncommon to see timing corrections particularly on large throttle delta and Cyl 6 is always the most prone.
The Torco fuel additive looks like a well established trusted octane booster when used in moderation. I normally run with six gallons of fuel in the tank. Bumping up to 97 octane should be about 12 oz.
