Greetings, new to 6 Speedonline...My 4th 911 to date, this one a recent acquisition: 2014 Carrera S with Aerocup Kit and PASM, but NOT the Sport Suspension. 7 speed Manual transmission (traded my white 911 PDK for a MT). My prior two 991.1s had SPORT PASM and were 20 mm lower than base.
I have ordered the H&R Lower Spring Set HR-28880-1 for my 2014 C2S off TireRack, installation planned for later this week.
Presuming that this has been addressed in the past on some other thread/forum, but up-to-date info from those in the "know" would be greatly appreciated. Simple switch from stock springs to H&R Springs? I am not switching the OEM PASM shocks and H&R says that's fine. Heard that H&R firmer than TechArt, and I am OK with that. Needs alignment post install? Maybe 3 months down the road after settling? Etc etc?
I think most would agree the fender gap is just too much. See the pics. The factory Aerocup Kit only adds to the effect. No 911 outfitted with such a bodykit should ever be this high off the ground!
PS: These are my snow tires mounted on aftermarket rims. The pic with the F8 Ferrada rims in Silver are what will be mounted on summer tires once the winter is over. On my prior 911 which I traded for this black one. I drive my 911s year round in NJ. Snow never an issue with the Michelin PA4 if anyone was wondering.
Also, I desperately wanted a 7 MT. My other car is a 1993 Ferrari 348 Speciale with a dogleg 5 MT, no power steering and is an absolute blast to drive. A PDK car, despite the speed and this and that, just no longer seemed worth having. I prefer a third pedal. Always a stick for me moving forward ...as long as I can get one.
The 911 I traded, white C2S with Aerocup Kit and Sport PASM. Mounted on F8 Ferrada Concave rims. [Got sick of the PDK]
