Test Drove the 992 Yesterday
Someone from my dealer called me early last week claiming that they need quality used 911s and that they will pay above market and they will schedule a test drive of a new 992 (wink wink right?). So I show up and they have a GT Silver with red interior 911s waiting for me to drive beautiful car in my favorite color. Modest options but still listed for $140k and marked down to $129K. So drove it for about 30 minutes lots of traffic on a Saturday afternoon so didn't really get a chance to push it hard, but did get the traction control to kick-in once
My honest opinion is 1) its the fastest car that I have driven it has tons of torque down low and will push you back in the seat every time, but almost too much power for the street. I guess you will get use to the power after a few months of ownership 2) I liked the rear of the car much better in person vs pictures on line, the front is ok I think the 991 front end has more character and heritage with the bigger headlights, 3) Interior, the dash screen is easy to read, but IMHO the whole dash and how you operate it is to busy and not intuitive, I would imagine that it will grow on you, but IMHO the analog gauges are better, and you can see all of the gauges much better in the 991 4) While I like the 992 and may eventually own one in a few years, getting back in my 991 I did not feel like I was missing anything my car drove just as well as the 992 and since mine is NA I enjoy seeing the tach needle sweeping towards redline, 5) they actually made me a very enticing offer to trade my 991and if I was in the market a little more off of the 992 and I would have made a deal. 6) Perhaps driving the 2 back to back on a track would have revealed more significant differences....

@Davel - thanks for the review. Nice job of describing your experience. Did not really like the 992 when first pics came out, but it has been growing on me. Reviews like yours at least has made me curious.
That gear selector bothers me.
