Briidgestone RE9890AS all seasons

Hello all,

I recently put on the Bridgestone RE980 A/S for the winter. Many have discussed it looking too narrow for the car, etc. I have some photos attached if anyone is interested, it is slightly narrower, showing a but more rim but acceptable to me. the photos with the yellow strips on the ground are with the OEM PZERO, the concrete driveway are the Bridgestones.

bridgestone front

Thoughts?

Yes, the rears do look a little too narrow on the wheel and the fronts are good. If you really need an AS in your area then I wouldn’t sweat it. Probably only you would notice. I went from the P 0’s which only lasted 18k to Mich 4S. Wayyyy more quiet. So far have 18 k and looks like I’ve got another 15k left. It never gets below 45d where the P lives so its fine.

I also have a set of these great tires, and care mostly about their performance all yr round - not so much about how they look.....(But, that's just me ;-) )

Way More Protection with the P Zeros

It appears the P Zeros give way more protection to the rim. True? If so, THAT does not make me happy as I was seriously considering the All Seasons!

No sir - not true. There is a good bead on these tires, protecting my precious wheels (they are NOT rims - they are wheels). My All Season 890AS tires are superb... Just FYI ....... ;-)

Good to hear. I had Continental All Seasons on my previous Targa and really liked them. I have been hopeful Conti would build some for this version Targa but not so far, so looking at Bridgestones. I want all the bead protection I can get.

Sorry about calling your wheels rims. 30 lashes! LoL!

Did you use different wheels for the all-season tires or did you just do a tire swap?

Simple tire swap - as they are all-season, no reason to do any more than that ;-)

Thanks, I just bought the 2019 C4S. It has summer tires. I'm trying to decide between getting winter tires or just leaving the car in the garage during bad weather.

You may always add Porsche 5mm wheel spacer kit. Part # 991 044 500 00. There are restrictions with certain wheels so please read the compatibility list.

Best of Luck!

I don’t think they will have any impact on the lip issue as discussed in the video.
