I’ve been researching the tuning options for my Carrera T and the ability to flash from home before deciding which tuner to go with. I’m a huge APR fan and have utilized their calibrations on multiple cars over the years, but was on the fence due to not being able to switch files on this platform from home or have multiple files loaded like most of the Audi offerings. Like most 991.2 owners looking to unlock power, this seems to the be main constraint holding them back from going with APR. We’ll I have good news for the community, the good folks at HS Tuning (Westlake, OH) have found a way to to make the flash from home option a reality. If you have a PC, battery charger, and internet connection the tune can be flashed at home via remote session on your laptop. Below is a quick breakdown of my experience.
I called HS Tuning to purchase the tune.
They ship out an APR cable and we discuss schedule for a remote login session.
I received an email with instructions on how to download the APR client and load drivers for the flash cable.
Once I had everything installed on the PC, battery charger hooked up to the car and verified internet connection, HS Tuning remoted into my PC to handle the flash.
The entire process took less than an hour.
This process was painless and allows me the ability to change files or flash back to stock via a scheduled remote session with HS Tuning. I wanted to share my experience with fellow 6Speed members since this has been a potential sticking point for some on going with the APR option. I won’t leave full feedback in this thread on the actual calibration for my Carrera T, but I’m very impressed so far. Like others have stated, the car should have come this way from the factory.
