Opinions Please

I'm thinking of Fabspeed Maxflo bypass pipes or Maxflo mufflers on my '97 993TT. It's not a daily dirver so I don't mind loud. But there is a difference between cool load and obnoxious loud. I don't want it to sound "boy racer". Anyone have experience with either of these. The bypass pipes would save both weight and $$$ but I'm concerned they might be too loud.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.

I did the bypass pipes a few months ago and love it. Not "boy racer" at all. 100% pure Porsche sound. It's loud when you want it to be, yet quiet when cruising along. I actually am looking forward to making mine a little louder with 100 cell cats.

Muffler bypass pipes are a great way to go. They sound great, you get better throttle response, you save weight & you're getting rid of heat. What more could you want.

Go for it, espcially if it isn't a daily driver

I will be in the minority here but I hated the muffler bypasses. They made the car sound like a old chris craft motorboat. Not a pleasant sound IMHO. I now have catbypasses with maxflow mufflers and they are much better. I think the car sounded best when it had stock mufflers modified by SCARGO with catbypases. It was the way it should have sounded from day one. I opted for the maxflow mufflers for the best balance of sound/performance.
