Motec adapter harness M600
Motec adapter harness M600
Just finished an adapter harness for a 95 993 chassis that we had converted with a turbo engine. While it stayed stock for many years we added some Garrett turbochargers to upgrade response and power. Considering all the hassles that tuning the factory ecu brings along I talked our customer to go the Motec route, keeping the factory harness intact.
I located and purchased the ecu header connector for the 88 pin ecu and made an adapter harness that plugs into the factory harness and into an M600 Motec ecu. I have been driving the car now for several weeks and it is awesome. All the controls at my fingertips and not in the hands of a who knows who tuner, that can actually damage the ecu doing the job. Also any upgrades no problem, just plug laptop in and away you go. If you need emmissions fo your state, unplug Motec and plug your factory ecu go through test and reverse it again.
A basic map ready to go would make it a plug and play. If you want to have options like electronic boost control, no problem. A switch on the dash with some added wires into the ecu voila! boost control!
The engine starts and runs like a factory car. It came out very nice.
What have you all done in the past?
Cheers
