Replacing starter...97 993TT

How hard is it to DIY a starter in these cars?...my experience is limited...with help of my son, I have replaced the alternator, which I thought was difficult...Any special tools needed?..Any/all tips appreciated...There is a sense of satisfaction when you can do one of these jobs...Thanx...Steve C 97 993TT(modified ECU, lightened flywheel, GT3 clutch, FabSpeed muffler bypass)

Waaay easier than replacing an alternator Passenger side of the transmission. About 2 nuts and a couple of wires and out she comes. Some guys like to drop the axle loose on that side, but it is not necessary.
