From 996tt to 993tt?

Hello All! I have had a few 996 turbos and one was a turbo S cab. I just keep being drawn to the 993 recently. My 996tt might be considered the most non-looking porsche of the last several generations however, when I bought it back in 2007, I just could not justify buying a brand new 997.1tt.

The looks and curves of the 993tt are just so much more imo. The interior is a bit basic but still cool in its own way. I have never driven one so don't know how they sound or drive. I would love to hear opinions from folks who have owned both turbo's 996/993 and which you prefered and why.

It seems that pricing is pretty close to what a 997.1tt could be picked up for so I wonder if that would be the better route since it is a newer car even though the miles might be the same and it has the round lights and more curves than the 996tt.

Thanks for the feedback.

Ok should have searched a bit, Just saw the "993tt or 996tt" thread which was very helpful. I did not know about a "acceptable instead of ideal" AC system and I live in South Texas. I also did not know about all the maintenance, my 03 996tt had 1200k miles and now has 20k and the car has been bullet proof eng wise and that is with 12k miles of a Protomotive/Motorwerks 650 kit.

Still love the car but perhaps the 997tt would be a better add on for similar money. Still thinking and resarching. I see some who have both the 993tt and 96tt which is cool. Great info.

Drive one and you'll know right away. Fits more like a glove, more raw, AC is fine even for Texas.. GL.

Kinda sound like the Srt 10 Viper compared to say a C6 ZO6 and why I kept the Viper over the Vette. Looking into 997tt's now, thinking I might trade my daily driver 08 CTT which I love for an 07 tt. Still in early stages though. Thanks for the feedback!
