The ruf idea is not a bad one Kevin. It will retain its value well too.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Not cheap though. something like $28K just for the engine upgrades, which if I'm not mistaken is new camshafts, turbos, exhaust and ecu programming.

other option would be to go with Kevin's (UMW) hybrid turbos and programming for roughly $8K installed. I'd keep the fabspeed muffler bypass set up, Pss9's, upgraded clutch, etc.

decisions, decisions...

How do you like your new gt2? I've been admiring that car for some time. I was considering parting with my 993tt for a 996 gt2 for a bit.

Now thinking of maybe sending it to ruf for the TurboR package. From the vids of that car vs the m6 - that looks like ruf can turn her into one fast 490hp beast.

Kevin
Kevin, i bet that car is fun. I would take it over most 996TT's without a doubt, thing is gorgeous and im sure so much fun!

I absolutely love the GT2, its everything ive dreamed about in all of my cars, rolled into one, i cant complain other then not being able to fully enjoy it because of the winter

Either way i look at your situation, you cannot go wrong. RUF is an amazing tuner, on your 993tt it will be one hell of a car, 996GT2? Is one hell of a car, would probably be nice to switch it up for yourself, but knowing that you would be giving up such a damn beauty and that in the future would be very hard to find another like it, might be enough not to!

Goodluck, Martin.

Kinesis 996 is infamous around these parts
Kmy, WOW your 993TT is VERY NICE! I think you should keep it. A nice 993TT is hard to come by. If yours is low milage then you should consider keeping it and save your pennies away for the GT2 later when the 997GT2 comes out. Then 996 GT2 will depreciate in price and you won't take the hit quite as badly.

I really like the cosmetic things u have done on the car. The red on red caliper looks awesome along with that tinny hole in the front bumper and RUF wheels!

Thank you for the compliments. I think most agree with you that I should keep the car and I think i'm convinced too. even my friend with the gt2 thinks i'd be crazy to walk away from this 993 especially since it's done up the way i like it and the cost of ownership is so low given these cars are holding their value.

gt2's are amazing though and maybe two porsches is in my future!

Best,
Kevin
