Just joined this forum and thought the membership might be interested in my wheels - perhaps the only 4WD 1996 993 factory built to GT2 specs - center-lock wheels and much, much more!

Thanks - she's my pride and joy, although I drive it more than I probably should, but it's sooo much fun! I believe she is the only one ever made since all the factory 993 GT2s (less than 50 of them) were all 2WD. This one was a special order for Dubai (has an arabic VIN plate!) that started out as a 4S that was upgraded to GT2 specs by the factory race department (that means that she has all the 4S bells and whistles e.g. electric seats, sun roof, full carbon interior and even cruise control for God's sake, but with aluminium hood, doors and composite wing and fender extensions, so she shed over 500lbs! Consequently the power (close to 500bhp) to weight ratio is nuts, but with the 4WD so easy to drive - just point and shoot! I knew she had been built and finally tracked her down in the South of France in 2001. Brought it back to UK first and then to the US (quite a fight with the EPA and DOT!) in 2003 with 32,000 km on clock. More pictures if there is interest?

I'm onestly interested to know if is a 380 (GT2) number of chassis or different. From the picture you put there are differences from a GT2. Was it GT2 converted in Weissach? Thanks.

Yes, I believe it was built in Weissach - I spoke to them about the car soon after I bought it. They remembered building the car as a special order for a VIP who the luxury items (A/C, cruise, heated seats etc) not offered in the straight GT2. Apparently it started out life as a 993TT and was built up to GT2 specs. When I first got the car it was equipped with BBS wheels (although it was delivered with code 408 18" turbos) which I changed for custom Kinesis when the rears "snapped." Certainly lots of differences to the 2WD 980s.

Chassis Number: WPOZZZ99ZTS371531
Engine Number: 61T02824
Engine Type: M64/60
Gearbox Type: G6451
Date of Manufacture: 29/11/1995

Hope this is what you're looking for? I would be really curious if you come up with anything about the car.

Shalke:

I would love to see pictures of your GT2. A late 993TT was my dream car, but I never thought I would be fortunate enough to own this car, especially in the US!

Thanks dfwerdoc - it's a lot of fun to drive and causes a bit of a stir even with Porscheofiles as you can imagine. I believe my mechanic has the original BBS wheels - they were rare gold inserts, regular stud converted to center locks. The fronts are fine, but the rears cracked all around - really scary because I only noticed when I washing the car after a 100mph + spin the day before - hats off to BBS that they held together and I didn't end up as a pretzel round some tree! However, BBS wouldn't give me the time of day because they said they were only warranteed for track use! So that's why I had Kenesis make a set that were exclusively center lock. Are you interested in buying the BBSs if I can find them? I've attached a picture from my archives - sorry about the quality, but hopefully you get the picture!?

Shlalke, she's really BEAUTIFUL - how long have you owned the car and where did you find it?
