993 TT - Price Bubble?

Hi All,
This is my first post to the Board as I'm a newbie. Strongly interested in purchasing a 993 Turbo and I know that prices are on par with the early 996 Turbos. (Makes sense since the 993s have great lines, are last of the air cooled, et al.)

My question is whether 993TT pricing has bubbled beyond what realistic pricing should be: has the hype artificially inflated prices for the short-term as folks are eagerly grabbing up the '96 and '97 TTs?

I'm looking for a daily driver to love and to cherish so something in the 15-20k mile range is best. But the going rate does make one ponder a 996TT with lower miles, better technology, etc. Do you see 993TT pricing holding steady, bursting, or continuing to increase over time?

Also, I'm curious how the factory leather on a 10+ year old car is going to hold up over the next 10+ years that I own it (or, hopefully, longer as it'll likely become part of my car collection).

Lastly, any of ya' have any leads on quality 993 Turbos for sale?

Appreciate any and all thoughts.

DAVID

Shooting from the hip I'd guess you'd see half the depreciation w/ a 993 vs 996. It only takes one mechanical snafu to throw all the arithmetic off however. Imho the 993 is more fun to drive but the upkeep is likely to be more. That said, I'm eyeballing getting a 996 commuter/winter beater.
