How to Best Handle a PPI?

Hi,
Currently have a PPI scheduled (owner is not a member of this board). Having not done this before with a Porsche, and only having done it twice before with American muscle, what recommendations would you make to:

(1) Ensure that the dealer does as much as he can to maximize the inspection? (What items specific to the 993TT should be looked at? How do I best coordinate with the dealer from a remote location? Etc.)

(2) Use the PPI to my advantage as the seller is a pretty savvy chap and he's bringing the car to the dealer (a neutral party) while I'm located many moons away from the action?

Thanks for your help everyone!

while there are exceptions, I would not use a dealer for a PPI unless there were no other choices. I would also not let the seller slect the shop for the PPI. Ask for recommendations from locals for a shop that knows the 993tt.

Usually a neutral shop or dealer is best, buyer pays. Critical on a 993. Expect to pay 250-500, make sure thay do a compression check, check SAI, CEL light fx.......you get the idea.

Take the car to an independent shop, that knows 993TTs, of your choice not the sellers. I wouldn't mess with a dealer since they are all about working on newer vehicles. I would be surprised if they wanted to do a compression/leakdown test.

I responded to your PMs. I really hope you got the compression/leakdown test done even thought the dealership had a different idea.
