993 to 993 engine difference???

I searched...

I want to know what differences there are in the 993 to 993 TT internal differences?

Block, crank, rods, cams, heads, etc.

All they all the same long block except for higher compression? Do they have different blocks or heads?? Anyone know all the differences?

Basically, other then a rod/piston change, can I just slap a turbo setup on a boost the snot out of it??

All the 993's are internally the same but the turbo, & the 1995's have a different intake system.

I may be wrong.

Hmmm, This is a hard question to find answers for...

I am hoping the block and crank at least are the same as well as head sealing capability.

the internals are the same. the '95's differ from the '96+ in one major way. The '95's don't have varioram and are OBDI. The '96 and later 993's all have varioram and are OBDII. With that said there are electronics differences between '96 and the '97/'98. Near as i can tell the internals are identical (993TT aside).

Nitro- You might want to try rennlist.com. There is a huge and very active 993 membership overthere. And to anwser your question I believe they are the same aside from compression.
Protomotive also does a TT convertion for the 993 so asking Todd K. would probably net you a ton of info.

Thanks, I have looked there. I found some good info.

The plan so far is to pick up a 993 C2, tear out the motor, change rods, pistons, studs, slap on my TT setup and have me a light cheap 700RWHP tt car.

If you want to be **** about it go to the Porsche web site and download the E_993_Katalog, it's basically the PET but has all the differences between NA's and turbos.
