Back in the market! 993 C2S or C4S - Advice?

All - I'm in the hunt for a 993 C2S or C4S. Prefer 98s. 50K miles or less. Perfect running condition. Silvers / Midnight Blue / Black / or White. Black interior preferred. Not going to spend $50K plus. I'm looking in the $40-45K range.

What are the "must have" options? I want xenons. I like the twists but those can be easily installed aftermarket. What else?

When I inspect the car, what should I look for? Who in LA can do compression tests?

Thanks guys,

Bobby

Good luck. It's going to be really hard to find a 98 with under 50kmi for under $50k.

The C4S is basically a Turbo without the engine, it has the bigger brakes, suspension etc. the C2S is a C2 with flares. I would go after the C4S all things being equal. You should expect to pay more for the C4S.

LAT - I actually didn't know that. I assumed that aside from AWD and the red brake calipers, the C2S and C4S were identical.

I"m looking too. I found a red 1998 with black interior today and it has black 18" Turbo Twist wheels with 39,344 miles for $54,995. They're getting a premium for these cars! I compared the look of the standard Carrera and the 911S looks like the Turbo body inlcuding the side skirts. This one in particular also has the Turbo nose on it. I think it's really overpriced althogh the miles look pretty good for its age.

Sounds like a "S" model, & that's about the standard price, you might get $2-3k off due to the time of the year.

ssarchi - that's a beautiful one, no doubt, but I'm in a lower range, and the seller said he turned down a $45K offer. If I let my budget get into the 50s, I'll have a hard time resisting the urge to say f-it and get a 996 turbo and mod it.

Bobby- I knew you would love that one.

If you keep it for 10 years, that's 1k a year..... I just bought a 95 with 25k on the clock- nicer factory options but no S for 35k.... Polar silver

But that white one matches your avatar....

bobby - can't reply to your pm (not enough 6sp posts), but saw this thread. If I sell it, my car wouldn't go for your price range.

best of luck in your hunt.
