Wide or narrow?

Hey guys,

How can you tell if a 993 is a widebody or narrow body? Looking at a race car, not a turbo, rear wheel drive, and it campaigns as an RS. Thoughts?

I'll take a stab at this First, I'd determine what the car "originally" was before it was campaigned as a race car. 993 C2S, C4S, Turbo would be widebody. All else would be narrow since we didn't get any of the super limited editions here in North America (e.g., 993TT cab). Car sounds like a C2S or C2.

BUT, then you gotta' look at the body. Is it original or has it been modded? Could have started life out as a C2 (narrow body) and then got fattened up by the modifier to handle racing slicks.

Tape measurer anyone?

I'll check it out further and get back to you on that. It's not in my state.

Thanks for taking the stab!

Where would I have them measure? From the top/center of the rear fenders?

Another way is to get the rim size & offset. If they are 11in+ wheels, it's a widebody.

RS is a narrow body. The standard C2 was slightly faster than the C2S as it was lighter and I think more aerodynamic?
