Advice on Buying a 993

I'm considering buying a '96 Cab. Would be my first 911. Solely used for fun on nice days. I've found one nearby with about 60k miles that I can get for approx $27.5k.

Assuming a PPI doesn't uncover anything nasty, does this sound like a reasonable deal?

Can you think of any reason to avoid buying a 993 if I only plan to drive about 2k miles a year?

Thanks in advance.

One of the best Porsches I have ever owned. No issues after 4 years of ownership whatsoever. Rear tires will need to be replaced twice as often as the fronts. Get a nice exhaust, motorsount package airbox, some PSS9's and some 18's and you will be set. The price seems ok although I have seen some cabs with similar miles in the $25k range.

Thanks

Much appreciated. Any advice on where to look for a better deal? I've had my eye on autotrader, ebay and cars.com. I check the classifieds here but there aren't many 993s. Probably doesn't help that I am in NY...

Rennlist has a pretty active 993 board. Check over there.

If it passes a PPI, it sounds like a good deal.

Thanks for the advice. I'm checking on a few in that price range and then I plan to grab one.
