Good Car Cover?

I just recently bought a '95 Cabrio, and I would like to get a car cover for it. It is going to be in a semi-public garage and I think it is prudent to cover it up. Can anyone suggest a particular brand they like? Do I need to wait for the car to cool down before covering it?

Also, on a completely unrelated topic, can anyone recommend a good aftermarket head unit that works well with an ipod? I bought the car with an aftermarket singel disc CD player that doesn't have a place to plug in an ipod.

Thanks.

Factory cover is the best, but little pricey.

I found some decent ones from empire. This cover was a replacement cover for a custom cover that cost three times as much and started leaking water and collecting dust under the cover in less than a year. My Empire cover is 4 months old, has survived numerous strong thunderstorms and seering Texas sun, and so far is exceeding my expectations. I have 3 cars under cover, soon the other two will be covered by Empire.

bought a blue "dust" cover off ebay, avoid it if possible. ok for inside your own garage, but had mine in a public garage and dust and dirt got through, spend a little more for the better cover, its better in the long run.

also bought a "weather" proof one for another of my cars, $250, stored outside, under carport, and it still only lasted about 2.5 years. i think oem may be the only way to go.

Problem with car covers is they will scratch a dirty car, so you got to make sure the car is clean every time you use the cover, if not, the dirt will get on the inside of the cover. Unless you get the really thick 4 season covers, they really do not offer any protection, & will really only help from small people scratches.

Factory is a nice one, Griot's sells just about every kind.

On the head unit, the factory one is best IMHO, but not the stock one. You can get a CD-220, then attach an iPod. The head unit will not control the iPod but will charge it. My HU is the Porsche Traffic Pro, really old school Nav.

Second vote here for the factory cover. It's a PERFECT fit and snug at the bottom, if you don't have a rear spoiler. There's little to no risk of the wind blowing it off.

Note there are 2 versions: one of outdoor and one for indoor. Make sure you get the right one.

agree, this happened to me and it took me awhile to determine what was scratching my car. apparently, small rock debris are left on the exterior and when you put on and remove the cover, the debris move with the cover.

I've used soft flanel indoor cover from Covercraft.

Superbly made, great fit - lasted me a good ten years, no scratches . . .
