Really dumb question regarding steering column
Really dumb question regarding steering column
This is going to sound really dumb, but here goes...
I just found an absolutely beautiful 1978 911 Targa that is just calling my name...the only downside is that I am 6'3 and can barely get my knees under the steering wheel. Does anyone know of a means to extend the steering column so that drivers (who are all legs like myself) can fit + drive comfortably?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thx

more room
Hey Dan,
I have a 77 911S and ended up with a 930 wheel. It's a smaller diameter and comes with a hub extender. Another plus is the fit--quite nice.
On another note, you may repost on the 911 forum, may get relevant info there covering your year.
Cheers

I am 6'5" and also have the same problem, especially with the older cars. I have had a lot of success going with an aftermarket wheel like Momo. You can then use their hub extension and you can even add a quick release, great for track days, to give you even more room.
