993 greatest 911 ever
The 993s are as beautiful as it gets... They will never go out of style!
The 964-965s are gorgeous as well, especially the black one in Bad Boys!! It looks a lot like yours L8Apex.
Wait a second... What is the difference between a 964 and a 965??

I think that is exactly like the one in bad Boys, it even has the same wheels, which in my opinion look hot. Gemballa makes some similar ones for the 996 that i really want to get
Hey by the way you 993 experts why does Will Smith in Bad Boys says that the car is a Limited Edition, is it really a limited edition?
I love when Martin lawrence says "this is just a shiny dick with 2 seats"

Interesting data point - there are 26 996 for sale in the local auto trader this week and only TWO 993. The 993s are actually priced at the same point as a 2001 TT! The quantity of 993s vs. 996s must be huge. 996 glut - TT & NA

I also love that line... Martin Lawrence is HILARIOUS!
I'm no expert, but my understanding was that the '94 turbo 3.6 IS the 965, and the earlier 964 t's are not called 965. In any case that '94 turbo 3.6 was produced in verrrrry small numbers, so limited edition it was. I've heard conflicting accounts of application of the 965 code, so I'm really not sure. I have a buddy here in town with a turbo S2, of which only about 13 were made I believe. Now THAT's what I call limited edition!
Okay guys, we're all wrong...or at least we're all only partially right!
I asked a friend who's one of the two most qualified Porsche historians in the US about the 965 code designation, and here's his answer:
"965 means a number of things. Originally in the late 80's it was a prototype of what would have been a 964 C4 all wheel drive turbo. Budgets got cut, and they scrapped it. However they unmothballed the 3.3 CIS turbo motor from the 930, stuck it in a widebody C2 with C4 brake hydraulics, and called it the 965. They later came out with a 3.6 liter version of the engine. However it was all still the old CIS technology from the 930, bearing little relation to the 993 turbo.
BTW, the 3.6 turbo is also called 965. So there were three: the original prototype of the 964 version of what finally became the 993 turbo; the 964-based "C2 Turbo" with the 3.3 CIS motor; and the 3.6 liter version, known as "Turbo 3.6" for '93/94."
I don't have production numbers, but I'm looking into it. Evidently, the numbers out there are conjecture, so if I find anything more concrete, I'll post it up.
