C4S has been standing for years, locks seized. How to get in?
Our C4S from 96 has been standing for a few years and now we cannot get in. First off we got the front hatch opened by forcing the window down 1 cm and using a "grabbing pole" opened the hatch. Changed the battery.
But when trying to unlock by remote, I can hear the locks going "click" when locking and enabling the alarm. Sounds good. But when unlucking I get a sound of the locking mechanism being seized. Like an electrib motor being forced to a stop.
When trying to open manually with a key, turning the key towards the front of the car, it doesn't feel right or as free moving as doing a unlock towards the rear.
The plastic "grabs" in the door handle move completely without resistance so the spring mechanism in them must have seized or completely seperated.
So.. no way to get in at all.
What are your ideas? I'm thinking getting in through a window some how by either smashing it or removing the rubber seals and lifting the window out. I'm just not sure which window I can the the latter to and actually get through. The small quater window is way to small to get in.
Also, the interior handle in the door doesn't help either. We tried to pull that when having the window forced down (again only 1cm was possible).
When we actually get in, we won't be able to open the doors anyway. So does anyone know how we get to the locking mechanism and what to do when we get in there? I'm thinking (or rather hoping) the door cards can be removed from the inside without opening the door and then get to the mechanism?

Try the suggestions In this thread:

You will likely have to break the glass. Don't try starting it yet!

Tried PB blaster or WD 40 spraying in the key hole and down in the door itself after the door trim is pulled up..
if you can get your window rolled down you may be able to reach the actual door handle from behind and twist the latch.
