Hello, first post...
Hello, first post...
Hello to all here - I have a 1996 993 6speed Targa, Black/Black for my daily driver. It has 91,000+ miles and I just had a general fix-up and top overhaul done by RUF AutoCentre here in Dallas at about 85,000.
Thought I would give you my brief 911 background - it has for a long time been my favorite medium range sports car...
1969 9llT Targa - new from dealer Sept. 1969.
1972 911T Coupe - new from dealer Summer 1972
1975 911S Targa - bought from local owner's estate, about 1976
1982 9llSC Targa - new from dealer 1982
1975 911S Targa - same car as the above 1975, traded back the SC for it.
1975 911S Targa - not same car as above, restored example bought 1986.
1996 993 Targa - present daily driver since 2000.
My other cars right now are:
1995 Corvette ZR1 #401 of the last 448 made that year.
2004 Corvette Z06
1998 Nissan 240SX
1999 Mazda Miata
I currently have an offer in negotiation for a 1987 Ferrari Testarossa; the current owner is bringing up some mechanical details before we close.
996/997 fans, please forgive, but I am one of the old air-die-hards that just has not been able to move on to the water cooled world.
At least not with Porsches!
James

Will do on the picture...
Thanks guys, - I will get one up here shortly...
So happens my software engineering partner here has just bought his own 1997 Black/Black Targa, except with TipTronic, because he liked mine so much...so, I will try to get an image of both.

Either way, glad to see you on here.

BTW, I found 6speed from a thread on FerrariChat; most of the guys there like 6speed better - saying it is more like their site. I have been with them about a year because I am in the process of getting a Testarossa, as mentioned above. A lot of the guys there are Porsche enthusiasts, too.
6speed is a great site not doubt about it. But Rennlist is cool too. Two totally different style of sites. Rennlist has a very active 993 board which is why I like it but 6speed is great for the more current high hp p-cars.
It's great to have both to hang out at!
