NEWBIE - looking For A Ride
NEWBIE - looking For A Ride
I am brand new to the forum and love the Porsche 993. I don't own one yet but am starting the research. This one is close and my favorite color but I don't have a good feel for price, mileage, year, etc.
Please inform me...thanks,

Hawgdriver - Welcome and I would say you can find a better deal than that. So we can help what price, color, upgrades, etc. are you looking for? The more details the better and yes 993 is a *****in car.
Aloha

P.S. Don't mind MiniD because he is a good kid.

Not Sure
Thanks for the words guys... To be honest I am not sure what all I am looking for.
I love the 993 style but I guess the 997 is supposedly supposed to look like the old 993. I am still just trying to learn a lot. What are the pros of the 993? Last of the air cooled mean that much?
I really love grey but also like the black, dark (ocean?) blue and white. I have to have a manual. Other than that, I kind of want it symbol and fast. I want to get a car a keep for a LONG time. The wife is sick of me buying different cars.
My current toy is a BMW 330i but it is my 3rd BMW and a M3 doesn't really excite me. It seems like everyone and their brother has one these days.
I don't see many porsches and like stated earlier, I LOVE the 993.
What things should I be looking for, good and bad on a used 993? Asking prices seem to be way above NADA/KBB because they are last of the air cooled. What is a realistic price for a 993? I would really like a cab and I want to stay in the mid 20's. Is this doable? Thanks for the help fellas, Hawgdriver

Late to this thread ... but ... you can find some 993's in the mid-20's ... but they will have high miles ... which means nothing IMHO ... if the car has a good history, has been maintained and cared for, and passes a PPI at a good shop. No offense to 6speed, but for your initial search of a 993 ... you might wanna check out Rennlist ... the 993 board there is very active. I love the 993 ... currently have 2. Good luck and welcome here.
