S Rims bad... unless they come in black of course

the front bumper could use a lip, but I guess we're all a little spoiled from the GT3 and the 996 aftermkt.

Well, other than the clock being totally out of place and the blocky console housing the navi and climate controls I can really see the family resemblance between the 997s dash and that of an SC/Carrera 3.2, especially in the shape of the dash and the position of the door pulls:

Yea, and especially the _design_ of the door panels... but is that really a move forward???
Here's a hot interview with Porsche's ex-lead designer Harm Lagaay.

Reporter: What do you do, when you run out of good, fresh ideas?
H.Lagaay: We start to copy our own old ideas.

Reporter: So... is that good?
H.Lagaay: uhmmm... errr... well...

Reporter: So... why did you do it then?
H.Lagaay: Hey! We did not only copy our old ideas, but also put a goofy stop-watch/moon-phase/pokemon-chrono right in the middle of our super slick retro-design.

Reporter: Brilliant! So why do you think you had to quit your chief-designer position at Porsche?
H.Lagaay: You know... I'm old and I want to retire...

Reporter: Errr... yea, sure.

Good design is timeless as evidenced by the Porsche 911 itself, the car looks the same as it did 40 years ago to people who don't know or care about cars, that's why I always get asked "what year is it?" anywhere I go, because people can't tell if it's from the '70s or early '90s. I don't think a move forward is necessarily a good design. As a matter of fact, IMHO it was a bad design when the 996 was first introduced and shared everything ahead of the doors with the modern 914 a.k.a. Boxster.

Nice interview though

I don't know if there is any significance to it but it looks like the volt gauge has been replaced by an oil temp gauge.
