Racelogic Traction Control.... Anyone use this??
bluebird- Yes, I asked John and he said no. No modifications needed to run Racelogic with Motronics. Right now I'm running 1.2bar and I went on a run this past Sunday and roads were wet from runoff. Everytime I would hit full boost I would feel the car pull back just enough power to get traction and then just launch. So far a great investment. John is currently tuning it for 1.5 bar so lets see what she does.
RCNJ - here's an interesting tidbit - it will also activate in corners! As in going around a corner and it detects some slippage of one of the wheels - you'll hear it misfiring. I had it on my Supra as did others I knew. All of us had stories of deciding that it wasn't helping us and turning it off only to quickly discover that it was saving our *** and turning it right back on. I see OhioGT2 discounted it and I respect his opinion but I and others at our power level (below 800RWHP) found it useful and I can say for sure it saved my *** more than once. It was a heck of a lot easier to tune than the AEM traction control that's for sure!
many thanks
I previously used Racelogic TC on the race car in my avatar pic. It worked quite well for a car that weighs under 2k lbs and makes over 400 HP. It didn't necessarily make the car faster in terms of absolute lap time, but it did make me far more cosistent. It's an awesome feeling to come off a corner with the same speed every time. Mash the throttle to the floor and the car just goes with no drama, leaving you to concentrate on other aspects of driving fast. Sure, with proper throttle modulation you can get a good corner exit, and throttle modulation is one of the more entertaining parts of driving to me. But, can you do it just as well with 3k lbs of angry Viper 1" from your bumper, knowing that you're going to get a 600 ft lbs of torque nudge in the *** if you don't get it just right?
Due to a rules change, I now have it sitting on a shelf. It's definitely going into the GT2 as soon as I find the time, even though the GT2 is purely a street car. If nothing else, it's a good safety net for when I let others drive the car, and the launch control should be a blast!
I'd be very interested to hear from anyone that has actually wired one into a 996.

I have no doubt there are applications where it does work well-- I am specifically interested in the GT2 application with oem ecu.
Often new concepts seem great in the honeymoon-- I am interested in hearing what users think in time with more experience with it.
