guys rememebr they want 20k to go from gt700 to gt800 minus the motor build. So if u have a stock motor gt700 kit it is more like 36,000 dollars for the gt800 build from evoms. thats over 70k plus the price of the stock 996tt.

Buddy, why the change of heart? Many of your previous posts made it seem like you thought the current setup you have was just right , if not a tad bit too strong. As far as opinions go, here is mine. Since you already paid to have the bottom end opened and the heads removed I wouldnt spend that money twice. Go with better tuning , fuel system and turbos and see what you can get out of the stock heads. I would think you could get get 800 at the crank without even touching the heads.Good luck

Thats what I would suggest. You can easily do the gt800 as your motor is done. All you need is turbo's, fueling, and software.

KPG you know I really like the GT700 and it is a bit much for the track but I only did 3 track days this year. I have gotten use to the power and want more!

Jags the GT800 would be easy to do but I understand the GT800 with a 3.8 is the real ticket. Gives you more torque and is not as laggy as a GT800 with the 3.6.

Buddy if your anything like me, you will always want more power

If you want that 3.8l, its gonna mean taking that engine apart and that means $$$$$. Better yet if your gonna stay with EVOMS then slap the gt800 on and see how you like it. If its laggy, than spend the $$$ on opening the motor and putting in the 3.8l.

I should have my 3.8l gt700 back by the end of next week

Buddy,
If you already have the rods leave it alone. You can get some gt3076rs on them and get 800 rwhp. Stock P car heads are actually very good. All this talk about headwork I think is useless. dont ask me how I know but I do. A case in point- granted its a 993tt but Bobby's 97 993TT with stock heads and cams put down 1000 rwhp. The trick in the Turbos. You need turbos, fuel, and good tuning custom dyno/street tune.

Marski do tell. I have a 3.8l built motor with P&P heads. What will it take for me to get around 850rwhp?

You will make it as long as you have enough fuel and MAF. You also need either gt30/76rs with .082 A/R or gt35rs with .82s in ur case or if u want even less lag then .63 A/Rs. I would suggest external TIAL 44 mm Wgs just like on my car ( BTW did u see the red RPM car? - Garret turbos with external tial Wgs...).
It take a lot of fabwork and watercoooling.

I'm not sure how KKK housings will react with your set up... if thats what ur doing.... along with internal WGs... You really need a boost controller or something becasue you should not nor will not run 850rwhp on pump gas.
So you probably will run .8 or .9 bars on pump then go up as better fuel is put in. That is at least how my set up is.
You need 1.5 bars to get ur target HP number but more importantly you need a MAf that is good for that HP and is calibrated accordingly... otherwise you will blow mafs left and right or not use the HP available because the maf doesnt see it.
good luck,
markski

Thanks Mark. Once I get the car back I will enjoy it for a while and then give Todd K a call and tget this stuff ordered. I will change out the turbo's, modify the headers, upgrade the fueling, different MAF, external wastegates, boost controller, and software. 850rwhp here in come

Did you just do a GT700 kit with a 3.8L build? Did you keep the same fuel system and turbos? Good luck and have fun!
Cheers

Thanks Marski,

I am getting ideas and quotes from several different tuners. I would like to stick with Evoms but if someone else has something better to offer to reach my goal and at the right price I am there.

My goal is 850 rwhp, 9's in the quarter (although I won't break stuff to get that number, no hard launches), still road course worthy and 200 mph in the Texas mile.

Not too much to ask for is it?

He won't do it with GT3076R's regardless of the A/R. My 3076Rs with .82 A/R stop making power at 830 rwhp at 1.4 BAR on a Dynapack...which is only high 700's on a different dyno.
