First trip to the track in my 996TT

I took my car to the drag strip tonight to see how it would do. I was able to get three runs in. I didn't do anything to prep the car other than turn off the PSM. I left all my crap in the car and left the tire pressure the same as on the street. On the first run I launched at about 3,000 rpms. On the second I launched at around 4,000 rpms, and on the 3rd at around 4,500.

Here were my results:

1st: 12.424 @ 116.90mph (2.158 60')
2nd: 12.404 @ 116.02mph (2.044 60')
3rd: 12.200 @ 117.31mph (1.946 60')

Nice times! 60ft's are getting down there nicely on the last run especially. Is your car stock or modified?

Cheers,

Beej

Time Slips

Don't mean to hi jack the thread, but this is the first time I saw a place to post my timeslips. Here are a couple of my timeslips from the 6speedonline Mir Track event from last monday. Car is my 2002 GT2, only mods being Prototech Giac, and an Agency muffler from Vivid racing.

My car is stock except for an FVD flash and a BMC sportfilter. I think that might be their Stage 1. They mailed me a cable and some software that I used to flash the computer. They claim it gives me 490hp.

At around 6,700 or 6,800rpms. On the last run I think it might have gotten to 7,000rpms, but I never hit the rev limiter. The FVD flash raised the redline to 7,000rpms.

Looks like the difference between our cars is FVD vs. GIAC reflash and you have an exhaust while mine is still stock.

Thanks. Driving the Porsche was definitely easier than my old Mustang, but the Porsche was faster and more fun. I would have liked time to do a few more runs and try out different launch points and shift points. I think I could probably break into the 11s with the perfect launch and the right shift points. I might need better tires for that though. I still have Conti's on there right now. The weather was great. It was around 70 degrees outside I think.
