Does a 997 towhook fit a 996 towhook?

I just bought a front 997 license plate holder that threads into the towhook. Does anyone know if the towhook bolt diameter and thread pattern is the same from 996 to 997?
If not I have a license plate holder for sale

Do you need to carry around tow hooks in case your car breaks down or something? Are there any in the trunk with the spare tire?

Never be caught without them.

At our track events we wrap them in a wrag in put them in the door pocket for easy
access.

Where can you get them from? Do they come with the car or do you have to buy them?

Every 911 I have owned came with one in the tool kit or sitting in the wheel well.
