V1 owners!!!

I've been an owner for 5 years+ and learned a new thing today I thought I'd pass on to some of those who didn't know.

You can program your V1. I'm programming mine to keep it in A mode but shut off X band. Thought it was pretty cool. LEarn something new everyday

I turned off X band in mine and set weak K band to alert at the reduced volume set by the lever. It is much quieter now.

I believe it's a European radar frequency.

V1 Mounting

Thanks, that is very helpful. But, I am trying to figure out how to mount in my tt cab (assuming it eventually arrives). Typically, in cabs I just use the suction cups and leave them on the window, but pull off the unit when I park and leave my top down.

Wish I could figure out a better way.

That's awesome! When I'm around a shopping district that X band drives me nuts and I end up turning the unit off. Anyone know if cops around NY/NJ use X band at all or if it's safe to disable it?

I can't tell you about NY/NJ... but I can tell you that here in Arizona, Photo-Radar vans use X band (I have also seen them use ka) so, as much as I'd like to turn off x-band; I can't without risking a photo radar ticket.

Funny... over time you become accustomed to knowing the locations where you will get X band hits (around grocery stores, intersections with lots of businesses, etc) and when an X band hit happens in an area where you don't expect it... you REALLY notice.

For now... I'm stuck with X band enabled

Joe

Joe, what's a photo-radar? The only camera tickets we get here are for red lights.
