Did the sound improve over the stock headunit? Stupid question I know just wondering if it changed a lot or not? And what do you mean wiring harnass from VW might work?

 

Its a bit louder and clearer. I have the Bose sub and it does make it a bit too boomy.

Yes I used the VW harness for it. Check with your shop that you pick it up from.

I just ordered the AVIC-D3 system. As soon as I get it installed I will post some pictures. The installers have all told me that they have a work-around for the Bose issue.

Some of the features that sold me on the unit were the unit has accelerometers built in, buttons and screen menus can be colored yellow, you can put in your own startup screen (Porsche logo).

I also bought the bluetooth, and iPod adapter backup camera.

I bought the unit on eBay for $650 delivered.

 

wow that's a great price for a complete setup!

 

Just to clarify, that was $650 for the AVIC-D3 aloone. $20 for the iPod cable and $144 for the bluetooth adapter. But I still think the AVIC-D3 is a good deal for the $650. I think they still have a few left.
