RG, I like your OEM/Carbon Fiber steering wheel. Can you please advise your supply source for your steering wheel, gauge rings & Tech Art wheels. I've only changed my shifter & Hand Brake....but lookings for similar mods to yours.

Cheers

RG: I was thinking of another car when I mentioned the steering wheel...you already have the carbon wheel....leave it as is. If that's factory, I think they're around $1k themselves....no need to switch steering wheels. Save the money towards a really nice exhaust system....your interior looks great.

Thanks Chuck...just itchin', ya know? I'm trying to see if BLKM3 will sell me his Europipe Quiet since he wants to trade for something louder. Question though, on the exhaust how much do you lose on the bottom? In my experience the change wasn't worth it due to loss of bottom end torque. This was on an BMW X5 4.8is and most recently on my Cayenne Turbo w/a Tubi...huge loss of torque made the whole vehicle feel slower...made the dealer put the stoch exhaust back on and voila, I had my power back. Drove it 2000 miles before switching back so I know the computer had time to adjust.

MGS, the steering wheel is stock option coded to my car. The wheels I got from Wheel Enhancement (great guys, ask for John) and the rings are from Eric at Bumperplugs.com.

RG: Probably typical of guys who haven't been exposed to a lot of automotive issues, I bought the Europipes after researching which exhaust system was considered by most to be one of the best. Unfortunately, the word "best" didn't include any research on my part into the issue of low end torque that you raise.

I hope that someone with the appropriate knowledge can chime in here....but the Europipes are being used by guys seeking 600-800 HP....so I used that as a barometer for measuring their performance. So far, I haven't noticed any major drop in torque at the low end.

My approach to performance has been to release existing HP thru allowing the car to breath easier, reduce back pressure etc. I dont' intend to spend much money on ECU flashes because I'm really into engine longevity and reliability. I'll probably get some kick-back from guys telling me the TT can handle all you want to dish out....but for my age, I think 450 HP plus whatever the EP system might liberate..... is quite acceptable. I'll leave the big numbers to you younger whippersnappers. 0-60 in under 4 seconds is just fine with me. Best of luck in your quest....but the steering wheel look really good with that grey interior.

Spend a little time looking around...in the past month I've seen three Europipe systems up for sale, one recently was a Stage 2 brand new in the box for $4500. It's on one of the Porsche forums...either this one or Rennlist....there are some new systems hitting the market that have been developed by guys who post here....they look interesting and seem to hold some promise for performance. Take your time...it can save you some serious $$.

Looks great RG! Of the steering wheels, I'd go with the first, but that's just mho. I had a similar FVD wheel on my 993 and loved it. Didn't block much of the gauges, just barely the top of the tach.

cheers,
Scott
