if this is not 'standard', what could be the cause? i dont want to get a car that had parts replaced, especially if its something important like the shift **** and the ebrake

Just to be clear, i m talking about the LEATHER part of the shift **** and the ebrake, not the actual **** and handle. i find this to be VERY strange, although i do know Porsche has a billion options

Just ask them to take a picture of the sticker under the front hood- it will have all the option codes. -interior and exterior color codes and each factory option. Use the codes, don't rely on a verbal or word description.

Then PM me your email and I will send you a pdf of the 2003 porsche ordering guide with every possible option code, description and price!

I bought a 996tt 03 from dealer in San Antonio 1300 mi sil/blk full leather, supple, full alum package int and sils, navi, new contis, cpo'd till 10-09, int/ext 10/10. They were asking 84700 got it for 75k. Had to break her in she now has 3300 mi. Maybe I over payed a bit but their argument was low miles. They are great to work with by the way. Applied a trade in tax credit for me on a 05 997 C2S I sold back to them a few mos ago so tax was 500 instead of 5k. Good luck awsome cars!

The leather around the shift **** and the em brake could be ordered any color from the factory...I'v seen worse combos. But you could replace these parts easily and for not more than $600 or so I would guess. This color difference does not point to a mechanical problem or dangerous condition etc. Last owner probably installed them because he didn't like what was there before.

Those items are just cosmetic, I'm sure the PO changed those to please him. I would have the car taken to an independent Porsche mechanic for a PPI before making any $$ transactions. Or make an offer pending the outcome of the PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection). Then adjust your offer according to what the car needs. or have the dealer fix what the PPI uncovers.

well i am not going to do a PPI until we agree on a purchase price. at the price he's asking, my offer wont come close to it at all

i think i will wait...

but can someone explain the diff between full leather, supple leather, etc etc
and the upgraded sound system to me? i dont know the diff

and do sport seats come standard not powered with moving seats forward and backward?
