Help! How much would this 996TT worth?
Help! How much would this 996TT worth?
Went to check out a 2003 996 turbo 6spd with 30k miles, 2nd owner. No more factory warranty, but it has a extended warranty from somewhere called 'Auto Express' (something along that line).
I am not familiar with the options available for this car, but as far as i can tell, it only has the sports seats (the support is all the way up to the shoulder part), carbon fiber interior, and 6 disc changer.
No navi, no power seat (as far as moving the seat forward and backward, but the recline is auto), no heated seats. It also only has the bose speakers on the sides, so i m not sure if thats consider 'premium sound system' like some of you guys have.
Couple questions:
Is PSM a standard on all 996 turbo?
And is it typical for the leather piece of near the shift **** a different color from all the other interior parts? this is the same for the leather piece on the handbrake. They are both grey when the whole interior (seats, dashboard, etc) are all black leather.
What would you think this car is worth? i would rate the condition inside/outside 8/10, with some minor rock chips on front bumper.

Agreed, low to mid 60's depending on condition
this is in California, clean title, clean carfax
there is something listed as "Paint sealant/fabric guard installed"
Anyone have idea what that is?
You guys are basing your price in the 60s range because it lacks the options or is that what the market price is now? Because KBB on this car is $74k, $76k, $78k
and can someone answer my questions?

PSM is standard for the car, however having different color shift **** & E brake are not what you would call standard. But those items are easy enough to change.
The price on these cars vary nearly 10K if sold by a dealer vs private seller.
You need to find out what options came w/the car to get a good idea of what its worth now. The prices on 2003 models go from low 50's to mid 80's depending on milage and options and dealer vs private sale.
I have found that for a car w/20K on the clock and w/out the Nav system supple leather front and rear, heated all power seats w/the Porsche embossed on the seats go for around 75K (dealer price) and 65 - 67K (Private) these are just an average but this is what I have found

I purchased an '03 Turbo from a used car dealership that deals only in luxury cars back in August. It had 30k miles on it, supple leather, full leather, and heated seats. It did not have navigation, and has the Bose system with around 10 speakers. I paid $67.5k for it which is what they were asking.

I just bought one and in my area the 01's were in the high 50's to 65K, the 02's from about low to high $60'sK and the 03's were mid/high $60's to $73K. 2004's were higher 70's and up...go on e-bay and see what people are asking (sort by year to make it easier) and look at turbos only. If you are a member go in and look at completed sales. I feel I got a really good deal on my car, 02, 30K miles for $56K pretty well optioned so there are deals to be had out there. Check for paint work (porsche buyer hate paint work, stone chips just mean the car was driven)and get a PPI from a reputable dealer (check trans and over revs etc). Mileage plays a role here too. Good luck!
I bought a 2004 X50 for 77k in September, 18k miles. Interior and exterior 9.5/10
KBB is a joke. Cars are not selling at KBB, unless sellers get lucky and buyers rely on KBB/Edmunds/Etc
Use the car pricer over on LeaseCompare (pretend you found a car, use there lease pricer, it will tell you the value)
I was thinking of 2003 car that have sold in the upper 60s (one here @ 67) with 20k miles- I took off a few K on miles, off a few k on condition.
I only think about private party sales- dealers offer NOTHING to the deal so I refuse to consider their profit in determining WORTH. If they put a CPO on it, add $4k is my thinking.

I agree the leasecompare is pretty accurate on price (+ or - a few thousand depend on condition and mileage).
I would think private is around $63k and dealer CPO around $73k ( cpo around $2k + detailing the car for showroom $500 + dealer profit $3-6K ).
Just consider I got my 2005 Turbo S with 24500 miles for $86k 10 days ago (not CPO but still have 1 full year of factory warranty left).
If you can get it for close to $60k I think you will be ok. Just tell the seller that the car is out of warranty you need a few thousand dollars to cover your back just in case.
good luck!!

good luck!!$73k is high for a non X50 996TT regardless of it being CPO or not.
Can anybody provide some recent auction figures for the 2003? (and the 2005?
)
I think most dealership these days are taking trade in at wholesale auction price and they usually relist the car for $10-13k more. And most private seller should be happy to sell their cars for 5-10% more from wholesale.

good luck!!the car has extended warranty from an aftermarket 3rd party warranty place, covers the car for another 4 yrs or 80k miles. so i cant use this as a reason to knock off the price

i see how some of you mention something about 'full leather', 'supple leather'. how do i tell if this turbo has it? better yet, i have the VIN, is it possible to call up a porsche dealer and ask them to lookup what options this car came with?
and what's consider 'upgraded sound'? this car has bose speakers on the side door panel, but thats all i see, and it only has a 6 disc cd changer. is it that if it comes with 12 disc changer it has the 'upgraded sound' system?
its a private party, asking for $75k
