Sorry my mistake, I didn't realize they had different products for the 996. For the 997 they have 2 products, RemoteKEY for coupes and SmartTOP for cabs.

Could you elaborate on your experience between the two products - Smarttop vs Remotetop. Do you think you received an early or defective version of the remotetop?
Perhaps you misunderstood my original post. I have the SmartTop. It is fantastic...one push and the top goes up/down (do not need to hold the button) also gives full control of rear windows. The reason I did not want the Remotetop is that I will never open the roof with the car not started (too much strain on the battery).

I wrote to Sven and asked if he would honor the Rennlist group buy price for me. He said:

I searched Rennlist and found the thread I think you're referring to, but it doesn't look like anything got finalized. I guess I'm on my own on this one. Oh well.

Contact Matt over at GMP. You might make #10, let him know I sent you and maybe he will offer GB pricing to all if you order as well. I got confirmation that my unit was shipped yesterday.

I installed my remoteTOP module today. It was super easy to install and configure, and I am not mechanically inclined. It works like a charm. I love it and I highly recommend it. Who wouldn't want to be able to roll the windows up or down with one touch of the remote?

If I run into any problems, I'll post up again. But it seems like it's all good.

If you buy one and plan to install it yourself, make sure you have an E12 Torx socket.

Wow - thanks for the great lead everyone. I am going to order both smartTop and remoteTop for my vehicle. Truly amazing concept. Will post my reviews once I have it.
