Doesn't really matter which tuner it is if he took a crappy 3.4L from a Carrera and slapped turbos on it. That is just an engine failure waiting to happen, especially now that it is 6 years old. It would be interesting to know what all was upgraded while doing such a turbo addition.

True to an extend but i still dont think that this car will ever be worth less than the same car stock...Gemballa is very well know and if its authenticity can be proved, i cant see how that hurts the value... I am not saying this isnt a stupid idea bc I would also prefer a TT platform to star with.

When I bought my TT from Select, I asked out of curiosity, and they told me they were asking 115k.

I had my suspicions that they were looking for something like that for it. They probably don't want to post an asking price on the internet for fear of being ridiculed. I hope they don't have that much in it, but from talking to them when I bought my TT there, I don't think they make huge margins on the cars they sell.

I guess if they actually put in a custom built motor with the turbo upgrade and also upgraded all of the other necessary parts at the same time, it might be worth more than a stock Carrera. I don't see how it could be worth more than a stock 996TT, though.

Great point, but how do they sell modified cars for well over the MSRP of the stock car? That is there business model and it is similar to a lot of others like Brabus!

I had a feeling that the price would be high. The question is will it sell? I think at $75,000 it might but at $115,000 NOT.

The difference is that they are a business that takes new cars and modifies them and then sells them. I am sure that if EVO, Proto, etc. were to go out and buy brand new 911s directly from Porsche and modified them, they would sell for more than stock as well. It works that way with other makes as well. Saleen and Roush do the same thing with Mustangs.

That doesn't mean they are worth more than stock once they hit someone's driveway though. Supply and demand sets those prices. Apparently there is absolutely no demand for this car, as evidenced by how long its been sitting there on their lot.
