All you need to do is drive both cars and you will have the answer to your own question.

they are both great cars, I just love the power of the turbo. My car is a ruf 550 conversion so there is a big difference.

They're both awesome cars. You can't go wrong with either.

Quicker reflexes, better interior, round headlights, better sound...997

race bred motor, stupid amounts of power and modability...Turbo

Comparing the stock 996TT to a pro modded TT is like driving two totally different cars!

Drive a Low Mileage....Adult owned....Untracked......Modded Turbo then you will automatically know or if the warranty is most important get the 997 with sport exhaust and be content to hear that beautiful P car sound

I like both cars, but if you want performance, definitely the turbo. IMO, as to gettting tired of the 996 looks, the car look pretty similar. Not sure that I even like the 997 looks better, over all.

I was at a local car show recently and i was viewing a 997tt and 996tt that were parked side by side. Except for the ovvious front headlamp treatment the average person would be hard pressed to even notice that they were different cars. The 997 is a nice development to our TT bodystyle ( except for those horrible exhaust outlets in the rear bumper cover) but i still feel the turbo body is still good looking and will age well.the 997 front lights are nicer and the rear haunches are more pronounced as the 993 .

Can't go wrong with a 996TT...10 years from now it will still be a Turbo. Look at the 930 Turbos, they are still great looking cars till today and would still be able to keep up with a lot of the modern cars.
