996 TT and 997 C2

I'll take the minority position. I like the 2wd Pcars. Better steering feel and the 997 front suspension is much better than a 996. The 997 also feels much more nimble with a much improved interior. In general, I think the 997 is a better balanced car.
The 996tt and GT3 have the "real" engines and so on but the standard 997 will take more abuse than most will ever dish out.
That said, if you want lot's of go, ability to mod, or being able to tell people you've got a turbo the 996tt is the choice.

I went back and forth over this same decision. I was looking at a 996 tt or a 997s. As my only car I might have chosen the 997. It is a nicer interior, longer warranty, and just a newer car. I decided on getting the turbo because I have another car to drive and I wanted to have a car that I thought would put the biggest smile on my face. Good luck with your decision.
