Big Decision

My '04 996TT Coupe is scheduled to hit my dealer any day. Here's my dilemma. Should I take a new '04 Red non-X50 otherwise nicely equipped with Aero Package, techno wheels, etc. or get a X-50 Black Aerokit w/ 6k miles.

The red lists for 139,950 and I can get 6k off of sticker or the black had a new list of 149,xxx and I can get for 124,900. I need to decide quickly so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Jon

what year is the black X50??
red and black very different colors you know
Also, different people value the 'new' factor (and leather smeel) differently

Really depends on how you feel about Red..

go with the black, the 10k will pay for other necessary mods ie: new wheels, PSS9's, etc

Jon, go new. You don't want the X50 anyway. Stage 2 is better and less expensive.

Well, he can install the Stage 4 programming on the X50. The 10k pays for the PSS9s, exhaust and the wheels. Simple

I vote go with black I wonder why.. I just love black for the TTs. Now that I use Rejex I don't have to do much to keep it looking good either...

First of all...THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE INPUT FROM EVERYONE WHO REPLIED.

Anyways, The decision was kinda made for me. The '03 black car was sold out from under me. I am going with the '04 red. Final answer!

I have a problem with used cars in general so I guess it was a blessing in disguise. The 10k savings was tempting, but my '02 TT that I recently sold was black and I was ready for a color change. I ordered this car in late September of '03 and it hit my dealership this morning. I will have the car this weekend!!!!

I battled over the resale potential based on the color. I know that silver and black rule, but I think the red (especially with the turbo aerokit and Techno wheels) will give the car a lot more presence and a lot more "wow" factor. I have owned some real attention getters previously and I admit that I had always wished for more of that with the 911 Turbo. My '04 E55 is "quiet" enough for 2 cars. I want my sports car to turn a few heads.

The chip is a given. Which ECU upgrade is another area where I need advice. Which is best and why? I read the last poll and GIAC seemed to get the nod. No mention of Powerchip. Any reason?

Sorry so long...again thanks to all.

Nothing wrong with Guards red on a TT. Some folks happen to be pretty fond of the colour.

RDH's car...

Great picture...I am even more excited now. I think a red 996TT actually gives a Modena a run for the money on the looks side. The one thing I would like to change is the black grills on the front. Any suggestions?
