Ron (RT7) is looking down on us today
Fellow 6Speeders,
I'm Ron's brother Rey. On behalf of our family, thank you so much for the condolences and kind words. Thank you so much for all of you that visited him. I know he enjoyed it very much. I'm trembling just writing this post as it is still very difficult to cope with his loss. My brother had an impact on so many people's lives and will be dearly missed but never forgotten. We will always cherish the many memories of him. I know my best friend is in a better place and will always be looking out for all of us.

Hi.Rey,
This is John Thank you for posting in the Forum,I first met Ron back in 1997 at a family gathering and he is my brother in law's Uncle and from then i also start calling him "Uncle Ron".I never met such a Humble, and very down to earth person as he is . I am still not able to get much sleep thinking about him, Saved all his Voice mail from my Cell so i can listen to it and hang the Jacket he gave me awhile back. I will truly miss Uncle Ron. I talk to him pretty much everysingle day and now all i can do is listen to his recorded message on my Cell.I love you Uncle Ron and you will always be in my Heart.

John
I met him way back from rennlist when he had one of the nicest 993 cabs out there. Pretty sure it was the 1st one ever with 19" BBS LM wheels. An amazing guy with great taste and a passion for cars. He will surely be missed. RIP
A pic of his old 993...

I know how you feel... I took out a shoe box that Ron sent me his P-car batter tender last year. I have a given name on another board, "Toeny" for "Tony"... well Ron addressed the box as "Toney"... and not sure why I never through out this box and glad I didn't.
I flew in from Dallas and visited Ron 2 weeks ago and brought Ron a Tony Romo Jersey... the smile he had on his face when I brought it out was pricesless and I'll never forget it. I am glad that I had a chance then and last spoke to him on Monday... and was able to tell again, how much we love him...
You're sorely missed bro!!

Thank you for posting. Our sincerest condelences to you and your family. As you can tell, Ron had a impact on many of us. I have told many people the way I met Ron.
My firt post on 6speed that I purchased my first Porsche. I got the normal congratulations responses, except for one guy, RT7. He said, you want to go to Toy's 4 Tots run tomorrow?. I asked where and when. I realized I would have to meet him around 430AM. So he picks a spot, some gas station off the 60 freeway. I tell my wife,' I gonna meet some guy at a gas station at 430am' She looked at me like I was crazy, I even had doubts. I drive up in my fully stock 996tt, thinking I am crazy. Ron pulls up a few minutes later in the sickest 996TT, along with anothe cool guy, Clive in a sweet 993. I will never forget...
Mike,
I remember that day very well... I was riding shot gun with Ron in his sick 996TT and that was the day we met as well... I didn't know that it was your first time meeting...as Ron told me that he was bringing a buddy who just picked up a 996TT... We're all blessed to had Ron as our friend.

^You guys are really fortunate to have a really close knit, down to earth car group. I remember when I first when on a run with you guys and everyone was just really friendly and gracious. Definitely a different vibe from the typical car meets I've gone to. I really regret not coming out to those local starbuck meets during the summer. RIP Ron.

Cancer really Sucks, you know it?
The same as someone said earlier, I also never met Ron, though from the words of others and his brother Rey, Ron seemed like a good guy & a true car enthusiast.
(slight hi-jack)
I am having lunch tomorrow/Monday with a lady I used to date.
She told me back in early October that she had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer back in '05 and had been going thru treatment over the last 2yrs. She went in for a checkup in September of this year and was told that it's back, and they don't feel like there's anything they can do for her.
They gave her 1-3yrs to live.
GOOD GRIEF - what on earth do you say to a FRIEND who hears that kind of news? (hi-jack over)
Ron, R.I.P.
