forhamilton, you are mistaken sir! Why do you think will he want a 700 package in 6 months?? NO!! He will want it in 3 months! Originally Posted by forhamilton

Cohare brings up a good point ... give Kevin @ UMW a call ... even if you just want a flash ... IMHO ... UMW flash gave ME much more power on my X50 than one of its competition ...Originally Posted by cohare
Skip the headers, spend that money on the new turbo's. k16/24's are only 2500 and they will do way more than headers EVER will.
You won't be dissapointed with the end results. I know the guys at IA will take care of you
They have a top notch staff and facility.
They have a top notch staff and facility.I met up with Chuck today (a fellow 6speeder and GREAT GUY BTW) for the first time and he really shedded a lot of light on me about Porsche and owning/tuning one. After taking a look at my car, he made me realize... I already have the K&N air filter... which I paid for in my iA stage II package... Jeremy, can I send this back to you? I bought my car used and it already came with all the mods that you see in my signature. Chuck said that he wouldn't be surprised if I had other mods that I'm not even aware of that I might not even need that I just purchased (k&n filter for one). he said maybe i might already have diverter valves too... *sigh* I'm going to have someone take a look and find out for sure sometime Monday.
Bryant,
I don't know that you'll necessarily upgrade again to larger turbos. While many get the mod bug (and get it bad), i will share with you my thoughts:
1. I have a Sharkwerks stage 2 on my car (GIAC, EVO diverters, EVO intake, europipe s2 exhaust). The car runs real strong! i find that the more power i add the less i can use it. It already feels so damn fast, that adding more would just make the rush that more short lived in the area which i live in...
2. you should really spend sometime learning how to use the power and drive the car (i'm not saying you don't know how to properly drive). i just migrated from a 993 to a 996tt and i can tell you it will take many years to get good at driving this car. I had lots of seat time/driving experience with my 993!!! and i believe it will take me sometime to do as well in some events (i.e. autox) in the 996tt. I'm advocating that with proper seat time and good instruction you'll get your 996tt to do some amazing things and that will lend itself to a ton of enjoyment!
Bottom line is i'm very content with my sharkewerks stage 2 kit and don't plan to upgrade turbos for sometime...
cheers,
boris

Here is the real problem with mod's. I trade quite often and the mod's are flushed. I don't care what anybody says on this board, modifications are money down the tubes and quite often even hurt the value of a car on trade-in. Yes, you can sell it out right for more, but here in Texas the sales tax kicks your ***. And yes you can remove them and sell them, but quite honestly who has the time.
If you are a true horsepower junkie and will keep it a while, go for 700 now and don't f... around. If you like to trade, buy another car that already has that kind of horsepower.
If you have enough money that you don't care, ignore this post and take me for a ride when you are done
.
I truly only got to this realization the hard way. I love cars and I love to mod them. At this point, I am addicted and this is my drug. Money? Screw it, I'll make more.
