I paid $139,000 for a new 2004 S600. Today, it has 18,000 miles on it and worth $68,000 (on a good day).

That's why I'm thinking E55 or C55 as well - btw which one do you guys think is a better daily beater?

 

Why are these cars tanking...gas or quality control?

The S600 has always taken a large hit. I still would buy another one since I lovethe car and like new cars.

 

I have heard that they are good cars, but BEWARE, you will take a bath at resale time for any AMG car. There is discussion of this at www.mbworld.org

Got a CLS55 for give or take 100K ... 5 months after .... got rid of it for < 70K. By then, I wish I kept my E46 M3 ... ** sigh **

 

any MB will take the hit the AMGs even more so because they are the most expensive of the bunch

a 2005 CL65 (65 not 55) for 72k with 30k miles - that was an almost 190k car new and thats thats a 115k hit in 2 years... crazy - heres the link to it:
