I hear that it feels just like stock. Like a stock TT or a stock Gt2? I ask this question because the clutch pedal requires more effort in a 2, something that I would like to keep. Does the new LWFW feel just like a clutch in a TT? Doesn't that clutch have a power assist?

The clutch feels the same like stock because the LWFW has nothing to do with the power assist. You could remove the power assist and change to GT2 set up non power assist .

Fully concur, my Clutch pedal feels the same. However my gas pedal is now a lot more sensitive with the LWFW.

I love this mod.

Kevin of UMW told me that it might actually prevent bearing wear (in theory) as the load on the crankshaft and such (the weight I imagin) goes way down. I defer to him to discuss this as he is the master engine builder and I just drive the thing. :-)

Anyway, his software makes gobs of torque in addition to HP. Because of this, I needed a new clutch about a day after I upgraded. Prior owner probably abused the thing (clutch). LWFW was a no brainer in my opinion....a definite upgrade for the sporting type.

Anyway, I am just one person and I really am happy with it. YMMV.

Got my car back today, after upgrading to RUF 550 + LWFW, and the feel are just like before, just revving faster. Drove the car right home from the dealer, as its COLD here in Norway. I am just happy the car is still inn one piece.

Just like iLLM3 and his RUF'ed GT2, I really not noticing any extra noise either (but the dealer warned me about it). Maybe because the new exhaust is louder

just wait till you slip the clutch, it will show up...take it easy for the first couple hundred miles.

Like Drew said...take it easy early on. Mine slipped everytime I got excited, but once it wore-in, it kicks ****.

....cling..clang...clunk...cling....rattle....ratt le...rattle...

remember to push the clutch in when a hot chick pulls up at the stop light, otherwise the clang-sensor will go off. P.S. the flywheel only makes noises when hot chicks are present.

you can also just slightly push down on the gear lever and it will go away.

also if there was a way to slightly increase the idle in the ECU it would solve the issue.

UMW code for me did this....I think Kevin has this as a spec issue in his code...

Told you man, and its' not because of the louder exhaust, I had straight pipes on my M3 basically and I still heard it loud and clear!! Just enjoy a wonderfuly crafted LWFW setup

mass is infamous around these parts
Where did you guys buy the LWFW/Sachs package from? Cost of parts? If you are changing the clutch, I presume most of the work has been done so changing the flywheel would entail not that much more labor.

Thanks

No extra labor for me....so the lwfw for me was "cheap" as my UMW code trashed my clutch (torque...).

Kevin has the whole package. All the little things are in it...my mechanic was very, very impressed with Kevin. Hard to do...guy is a master mechanic.....been around, has his own 930 with gearbox/turbo mods....
