No problem. I have really been trying to get the miles on taking long trips for no real reason. Anyway, I made it to 1270 miles this time and added another quart. So, first 500 miles I added 1 quart, but, like I said, don't think it was topped off because even when I added the quart after 500 miles, the oil level was only halfway when I checked it in the car. This time made it 770 miles, remember, probably not all the way full, could have made it another 200-300 if I had filled it at 500 miles. Hope it helps. BTW, your car new? If not and you are buring up oil, better pressure test it.

Lou,

Not saying this is happening, but it could. If you make short trips around town, fuel actually gets into the oil and raises your readings. If you make long trips where you really warm your motor up, it evaporates the fuel. This combination will make it appear you are using alot more oil than you really are.

Lou
Oconomowoc. It's located between Milwaukee and Madison. My daughter is also a UW Madison graduate. I must remain neutral however, as I also have two boys, one son is a Ohio State grad and the other a Texas A&M grad.

I bought my 03 TT X50 New 7 months ago. I have put 6,000 miles on it and my oil consumption is about 2,000 miles to a quart so I think it's most likely normal at this point.

Best regards,
JMT

I went through 2 quarts in the first 1500 miles. Just did a full first oil service including new air filter, oil change and plug change. All is good so far!
