East Coast Trackers...vir Mar 08 Pca Zone 2 Event!!!
I have communicated with the CTI of VIR event, VERY NICE GUY!!
If the event is as quality as Tom the CTI we are in for a real treat.
below is my email to him and on top his response to the who can be an instructor question.
I will instruct and if three day event can have a different student each day
also myself and other instructors here will be able to take guys out in the instructor run group as well. So should be able to spend some real quality time with some of you guys in the car and on the track, should be awesome, see below.
as for the Paddock, since Sebring, Homestead, and Daytona has pits I am needing a Garage!!!
here is the email info...
Tom
Thanks for the personal note. Manny had copied me with your earlier message to him. I had been waiting for an Internet connection to reply--Iphones are nice but still a challenge for me to type. My wife and I are just setting up winter residence in Miami for January and February.
Anyway
Back to VIR:
It certainly sounds like you and your instructor friends have the right credentials, experience, and desire to Instruct at VIR. Back Home, where I am the Track Chairman for the Riesentöter Region our criteria for instructing is PCA/BMW National Certification. We believe an instructor who meets the criteria for certification and willing to put in the time to be certified will learn and understand a track before he or she attempts instructing. That said, I will accept you and your certified friends as instructors.
If you have other questions please feel free to ask.
Tom

Hi Tom,
Manny gave me your email. Sorry to bother you but he said you are going to be the CTI for the VIR event in March.
Myself and several other Florida PCA instructors are trying to come to the event. We have all instructed a lot and driven many of the tracks in the US and abroad. Most of us also have several competition licenses.
We teach for PCA, Chin, PBOC, and NASA mostly in florida.
Our home track is Sebring, but we also teach at Homestead, Moroso, Roebling, and recently at DAYTONA.
Anyway the reason for my email is I wanted to know if we could sign up as instructors for the VIR event.
Many of us have driven VIR many times some never. We would seek out additional instruction and advise from the VIR top dogs as much as we can. But there are many guys we know also trying to go that would like us to instruct them which would be fun for us. Be are all comfortable at fast tracks and are all very level headed and dont think it should be a problem. May even help you out with some additional instructors.
If we can instruct we will all get rides with drivers experienced to VIR to pick there brain, see the line and also get checked off by your guys if you feel the need.
Tom we are excited about coming up and look forward to meeting all the Virginia PCA'ers.
Hopefully we will be able to return the favor for you guys at Sebring some day!
when you get time let me know your thoughts.
thank you

And to those who are also helping!
call me after 6pm got a long OR day!!
ok here is some lodging and garage info from the registrar Manny, who couldnt be more helpful!!!
Hi Tom,
I got word on the garage/suites/lodge rooms and villas. Right now VIR is only taking reservations from VIR Club Members and those who have stayed there before. After they sort that out, they said they would open it up to non-members/those who have never stayed at a vir property. If I recall, the garage suites and rooms at the VIR lodge fill up very quickly. Not sure about the Villas since they are fairly new and located away from the paddock, but still within the confines of the track. I've never stayed in them, but they're supposed to have fabulous balcony views of the famous climbing esses. You can go to www.virclub.com and see what the garage suites, vir lodge and the villas look like. I think their were garages that could be rented the weekend of the event last year. At least, I remember one or two being empty. They're very few compared to Daytona.
best regards,
Manny

I'm pretty sure that is where my Dad is staying. It's going to be a pretty crazy weekend. He's flying home Saturday Morning to go to something with my Sister Saturday night and then we're flying down on Sunday.
That means TONIGHT!!!!! Right?
