What ECU tune for my 996tt rwd road legal race car?

Hi i´m new at the board and i am rebuilding a kind of extreme 996Turbo-03 from a crashed wreck . The engine part is not that extreme but the chassie is more or less Cup and RSR parts combined with some own made solutions.. The car is supposed to be road legal but also FIA certified for hardcore racing.
After reading a lot on your board the latest days I understand that if I want to know something about tuning the 996 turbo to alot of power this is the place to ask questions.

So maybe this has been up alot of times but if that´s the case please excuse my beginners mistake.

My car will be RWD and all front parts are removed and the transaxle and differential is gone

The tune harware I´ve collected for the car is:
K24:s
GT2 IC
Maxspeed intake
5 bar fpr
FVD exhaust with 100cell race cats
ported OEM headers

What kind of power do you think I can go for?
This is a serious trackcar so reliability is really the most important thing to me!

What kind of ECU tune do you suggest? will I have any problem with my deletion of my frontdrive parts, I mean probelm with the PSM and ABS or maybe limp home mode???
Have someone tried a Piggy-back system like UNICHIP, Vishnu or any other brand?
Whats the down side with piggyback vs GIAC?

Is any one using stand alone ECU?

Thanks
Peter

Sounds good, you will be pushing 550hp or something with that and it's enough for track duty!

The RWD mod shouldn't interrupt ABS as it's a different system...and for the PSM, who uses it anyway (but I'm in no way a expert with this mod)

I would just get a ECU from a well-known tuner.

There are many many options and most companies have a good tune for K24's / X50...so don't worry with the choice!
(I would probably stay with European tuners like Cargraphic, FVD, Techart, MTM, Gemballa or TTP because the exact same kind of fuel...if you're running with street fuel...)

I'm tracking a street TT quite much so some questions for you too;

How's the weight reduction going?

Also, what kind of LSD are you using with RWD? Got something here from Manthey-Racing with a 45% lock up, but because of winter, no idea how it handles! (Still being AWD here.)

What kind of suspension? Very wide tires? A massive rear wing and a front splitter?

Thanks for the answers and good luck in your build!

Hi thanks for you answer!
Ok so then I´m good with the ABS
Regarding PSM, I don´t want it either I´m just worried that I will have problems after removing the front drive parts?!

I´m going with BBS Cup centerlooking rims with 255 Toyo R888 in front and 315 Toyo R888 in the rear!

I am using the Cup uprighters in front and the Cup abs sensors but not the cup ABS box. That costs about 3000$, so I really hope that I don´t need that! The car is to expensive as it is!

I would go Orton for this ECU I have a few less mods and am running about 490 rwhp and havent gotten pulled on the track yet, never a code, never overheats, no problems whatsoever. The power delivery is smooth, no lag, and very controllable, though very torquey too, so throttle control is a must.

I'm sure he can get it there from Europe as well and have someone around that area to help you troubleshoot if neccessary.

Thanks!
Do you have a webpage so I can look into the details about orton?
490RWHP is that about 550 at the crank?

I would stick to the factory GT2 setup MKII (480ish FWHP), they are unbeatable on the track, especially since you have the lightweight and chassis improvements already. On which track will this car be used the most, any links?

Nice project, reminds me of mine.

Thanks!
It will be used mostly on Swedish tracks and Nurburg ring(hopefully)!
http://www.gotlandring.com/home.xml?lang=en this is one of them!

I´m planning for about 550hp at the crank, hoping that will be enough for me!
When you say it will be unbeatable I hope but I´m very unsecured about it? I have som rough competition over here with alot of really fast street legal cars! Everything from this superfast beemer http://www.loaded.se/sd_page/25/1/index.php to this extreme Ultima TT GTR http://www.kenson.nu/Ultimabilder/index.htm...
So you see we have some hard competition over here ;-)

Do you have any thread/info about your car 100-200 in 5.6sec, that is fast as h-ll?
