Someone please talk me out of leaving 6speed for good.
We Protect Our Own
Budddy's Cannonball Run post was the first post I read on this forum.
I joined that day.
Everyone here has given good to great advice.

The Lame Fools who bash in print only to show their arrogance & ignorance.
At Every Porsche event-Rolex, GS, PCA and here we protect our Own.
1 vote for Buddy to stay here on 6SpeedOnline.

I think Buddy is smart enough to realise that one or two peoples comments and newbies don't reflect the entire 6speed community and his comments are to get a reaction and sympathy party from everyone and that is exactly what everyone is doing!
For sale section is not meant to be a glorified wonderful praising of ones car ... If people have comments to make or any known history or current market data it shouldn't be taken offensive but rather a positive tool 6speed brings to our buyers community.

His "sudden willingness to fix the problem"? Nice first post. I predict you'll do well here.....
If I were buying his car, I WOULD have preffered he NOT fix the trans because it is the PERFECT time to do the motorsport gears......while doing a rebuild.
Look, if you really believe Buddy was gonna try to "Hide" the fact that his trans had no 3rd gear.....than you don't belong here. It's OBVIOUS after even the most cursory of glances here that Buddy is a long time, valuable, contributing member of this board. If that isn't obvious to you....then do us all a favor and leave.

I have left the keyboard here on 6speed mad many a time, but have come back because
the overall experiences and friendships are worth it. Don't get down and don't think
that everyone is an ******* because they pointed out some things that should be thought about or considered. I also have longed for another fast exotic car but I am
currently in no position to consider it. Good luck with the sale and don't worry
about some of the smart *** comments (myself included), they are not personal.
Cheers,

Marty K.
. He and I have had knock down, drag 'em out arguments but at the end of the day we are both enthusiasts and certainly arent going to walk because of differing opinions. If someone takes this board serious enough to be upset, perhaps a visit with Dr Phil is needed. Do you really believe that everyone on the Lambo sites are holding hands singing Kum Bayah? It will be same ****, different car. Welcome to the 'net. Hang in there

For what it is worth and perhaps nothing to you. Why did you come in here? I mean really. Did you just sign on to make a comment?
Are you a Porsche owner? The reason I ask is if you are a new member here where is the intro "new owner" here. So we could welcome you aboard.
Yet your first 2 posts are aimed at this thread. What gives?
I fail to see your reasons for joining other than to stir the pot once again. I am not the on the Buddy bandwagon. I have met Buddy and had dinner with him. It does give me better insight to his character and he is a good guy. Yes he got emotional and perhaps didn't handle the jab at his character as well as some but he took it nonetheless.
Your opinion is obviously "yours" but you didn't join this board just moments ago to introduce yourself to the numerous members here. So once again I ask - "What is your reason for coming on this thread?"
Are you interested in buying his car?

Actually you are the one here with two posts, both of which being negative, you would be doing us the favor if YOU left.
OR at least have something to ADD to the community other than judgement. People have agreed with you that he should have mentioned it in the post, and he promptly said it would be replaced at the first instance of it being mentioned, and not only that, he KNEW there was a whole thread on this issue involving his car.
If someone has any common sense they would search the users post before buying off the internet forums anyways, I know I've done it, and have sold and it's been done to me. So yes YOU CAN expect people to have to search.
So leave it alone.
Or just leave.

I really get a chuckle out of some of the responses. High hp cars like Buddy's always have an issue. It is part of the territory. If you can't afford to play with them ............. then they are not for you. I would hope anyone looking at such a car would also be able to check it out. If you missed third gear then you are an idiot. You have to look at the car and factor in what it requires. Needless to say this is not a car for most people.
Next, the available buyers for such a car are probably less than 1/2 of 1% of people looking for a Porsche TT. Few people understand the money involved in this type of car. Fewer yet understand the mechanics and even fewer can afford to buy them. Out of the ones that can qualify for all the above, most of the remainder can't afford to maintain them.
I believe Buddy understands all the above. What he probably doesn't understand is the basic lack of respect from some members. You know it wasn't too many years ago a high powered 996tt was 500 hp. I know many on this board believe the power increases were delivered somewhat like the Yellow Page Phone book.
For those that don't know, Buddy's car was the car that was the dividing point between Stage 1-4 power and the GT650 and up. Alot was learned with the Stage 5. Very few were made. Funny thing is I have never really heard any thank you's or acknowledgements. I guess that is where the respect is missing.

Actually i´m a real newbie here..
But I must say a broken 3 gear is kind o obvious to every potential buyer so even if he didint say anything about it in his FS thread it couldn´t be anything he was intending to hide?!
I meen the testrun would be kind of strange, " yea it´s great crazy fast car but I don´t want you to go more than 30mph when you try it out?"
Just a point from a real newbie with no connection what so ever to anyone at 6speed...

I will say that Buddy should have disclosed this issue in teh original post, but I ALSO BELEIVE that he is a standup guy and would not have sold the car as is!

C-mon, put on the bullet proof vest, whip out the man sausage (ala Jimbo)...& start Banning.
..but seriously dont take all this stuff to heart..at the end of the day we all have our friends & family. Just take a step back gather your thoughts, come back better & stronger..
