Ok...here's the info I received...God I wish I knew for sure

Hello Doug, as I understand the front bumper cover is the same for the us models and the European models. On the back side of the bumper there is a place where you cut out the actual bumper cover it self to have the bumperettes fit into the bumper. If you were to change just the grilles out you would see visually the cut outs in the bumper cover where the bumperettes once had been. In order for you to take them off and It to look good you would have to fill the holes or replace the front bumper cover. This is the information that I have obtained from my parts guys at porsche. But we can always try if your would like. We are open just mon-fri. Thanks Doug, let me know.

The funny thing is that when I look at mine, it almost appears that the warts are double-sided taped on and they want $203 each!

Any conclusion to this?

I am about to purchase 01 996tt and it has these ugly front bumperettes. Can someone confirm whether this can be done without paintwork? I'm sure others had these warts on the car and wanted to get rid of them.

I resurrected an old thread since I couldn't find any success stories. Thanks in advance.
