AVUS or SPORTEC?

Ok, I have narrowed my choices down to 2 rims, the AVUS 501 and the Sportec. They are both very different looks and design.

First the Avus is a deep dish, reverse lip, 3-piece available in any color center you desire and chromed lips. The Sportec is a 1-piece available in a full painted finish in either silver or gun metal grey. Both are of very good design, build quality and are stunning and rare.

Please choose which wheel you prefer based on look, structural integrity, weight, company history, and experience. I promise this will be my last post on wheels.

I like it with the Avus's, but better clear it with Xico and "his little friend" first before going ahead with it...

As I and other stated before, I would check out other wheel selections. The avus look great on XICO's car. But are you doing all the body mods he has? I think they fit his car well. If you staying more stock I would opt for the sportecs although I am a lip guy.... There are so many choices..... Take your time...

avus has a multi spoke that I put on my 965 I have a 2 inch lip in the front and a 3.5 in the rear. To my knowledge no one has ever put a 3.5 lip on a 965 before.
cheers

I think price difference might be an issue....The Sportecs are EXPENSIVE!!!
I am all about 7-spokes now LOL...One wheel I like is the PES GP-7 or HRE 841R

Britt, do you have the weights? Are the Sportecs forged? On appearance, I prefer them.

i like both , the only thing that is a downside to the sportec is taht they are really really heavy..

you can try to call sportec, but i remember that i think for the 20's or 19's you can have them witha different lip on it, not just the standard one, i remember seeing it when i went to sportec/3t a fewmonths ago, they had it on their demo car it was a silver 996 couldnt remember if it was turbo or not..
