Wanted: Cliff's Notes Version of KPV Bilstein Issue

Hi All,

I've been lurking for the past several months, knowing that I just didn't have time to post any detailed follow ups or contribute anything very meaningful to the list. One of our businesses has been expanding, building a house, and have another baby on the way. With racing also in full swing, there wasn't time to do much else.

Any way, one thread that really caught my eye, but I didn't read super carefully, was the PSS9 KPV discussion.

KPV, I think what I learned from that was that if you want to lower your car to GT2 ride height, the PSS9s won't work correctly due to the ride height/internal bump stop issue. But, if you lower them to the Bilstein spec (which is about half way between stock 996TT and GT2 ride heights), then they work fine. Is that correct?

I've had no problems with my PSS9s. But, I haven't ever tracked the car and haven't exceeded 100 mph for more than a few seconds at a time. Just not practical around here. But, in the event that the opportunity presents itself, I don't want to find myself riding on the bump stops.

TIA,

P.S. No new mods on the 996TT. I did, however, mod the racecar quite a bit over the past few months. Last race of the year in AZ is next weekend. A 3 hour night enduro. (Too friggin hot here now to race before 10 pm. After June, its even too hot after 10 pm to race.)

P.S.S. I have now collected about half of my money from the unscrupulous HRE dealer that ripped off Hani and I. He's made his payments every week now. Just had to tell his wife, who works for me... and that cleared up the issue PDQ.

Racer63,
Based upon my findings, you are correct. In addition, I will be posting a follow up to my previous thread within the next week.

Cool. Thanks!

By the way, putting the stock GT2 next to my PSS9 equipped TT was interesting. The GT2 was much lower. My car looked like it could have been a "lifted" GT2.

On the other hand, I would have ripped off several front spoilers by now if I had the GT2.
