New Splitter Project pending

Hi.

I am putting an aero (OEM style) kit front onto the car. I called MAShaw as I wanted to get his unit, but his pricing on his site was way off and he would not honor his web price ($550).....so I called sunset and their pricing was fair....

Ended up going cheap via xtrememotorsports.....supposedly flexible as the stock standard unit, we'll see. If so, it could be a winner.

Anyway, that then allows for more options than the stock, as holes will be more stable. So, I contacted eclou on the 997TT forum and got some of his splitters for the 997TT. My body shop said no problem to my request to add them.

I'll report later. I plan to do the spoiler in satin black to match the standard part(s)....I like the look at it really simplifies care/repair.

xtrememotorsports on ebay got the part out same day fedexground with paypal....have to say, so far it has been very easy. I'll report back.

Anyone else use them.....

350 for the front piece v 750-900 + 100+ for shipping for OEM....for a part that is going to get banged up.

I called AWE and they did not have any 6speed or pca discounts. I wanted to use them.... I tried board sponsors first for the record.

To me, if it is well made, fits well....it is plastic/whatever. Cosmetic. Black satin paint will let me fix it up and not worry....flat would have been to hard to keep clean looking. Satin per my body shop manager (serious Porsche nut....so he gets it)->easy to keep looking good.

I have NOTHING to do with these guys. No deals. Nada. I'll report back with the truth about what I get, etc. Problems, etc. Wish me luck.

Eclou is a user on this website...do a search for his user name and 997tt forum...and splitter project. Oh heck, here is his stuff..... he is super nice.

I bought mine from FVD in Florida...exact fit and looks the same as the stock Porsche splitter that I had on but it fractured... the FVD product is a black rubberized plastic...forgiving when scraped and has metal strip along the bottom edge under the cutouts to help defray scuffs. $350 for the lip and $130 shipping. I looked all over also and just didn't want to pay the price for something that's going to get scuffed up again. It goes in very well with the dark blue car. I cant' really tell it's not original.

FYI, I also searched for sponsor products, but eventually came up with this one. The worst part is that because of the size and shape, shipping is almost 1/3 of the price of the lip.

Very cool....is your's AERO or stock...I went with the turbo aero kit front...so more frontal down force. I have a TA 1 CF wing in the rear, so I wanted to balance things a bit both visually and aerodynamically. I am ok if the front is loaded a bit more than the rear...both are more than stock now...and I am not going over 175 any time soon..

Well, eclou's splitters did not get here yet, BUT the spoiler got painted and installed for 80$ total (satin black). Fit perfectly first time. Two minor bumpes were taken out by the body shop...no charge. Minor/common stuff. Same basic stuff as the OEM plastic thing.

Looks amazing. Maybe I just needed the prior owner's blemmishs removes. Makes the car look way better not having another guys dings...

xtrememotorsports on ebay was fast...communicated well... I have nothing to do with them and got no discount.

Much more stable at speed...balances the Type 1 rear cf wing now....cheaply.

FYI.
